Nelly Furtado’s “Bucket List” Video: Watch + Official Single Cover

Nelly Furtado isn’t giving up on her Spirit Indestructible album — for which she’s released approximately 25 singles in the past two months despite its lackluster (to be generous) chart performance. Admittedly, though, every video has been pretty great! The songs, perhaps, tuneless and disappointing. But the videos have been uniformly fairly arresting, so hey — at least she’s doing something right. That brings us to the video for the unfortunately titled “Bucket List” (perhaps the only song title worse than “Parking Lot”), which turns out to be a pretty decent song, with a lovely and very sensitive video, since its basic message is “YOLO.” Following a group of uniformly hip twentysomethings around New York as they live while they’re young and discover who they are (in a very @dance_blessed but nonetheless touching sort of way), intercut with inexplicably close-up footage of Furtado’s face. But it’s still beautiful and evocative, even if it doesn’t exactly hit the right mark. Watch up top.
