Justin Timberlake's '20/20 Experience' to sell nearly a million copies in its first week
If album sales are any indicator, Justin Timberlake's music was sorely missed. Early Billboard reports estimate Timberlake's comeback album, "The 20/20 Experience" will sell between 950,000 and 975,000 units in its first week. Timberlake's latest compilation could become the best selling album in its first week for a male since Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" which sold 964,000 copies when it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in Sept. 2011. Sales are measured from Monday to Sunday by Nielsen Soundscan. Official numbers will be made available Wednesday Monday night, Timberlake confirmed his "20/20 Experience" — which dropped Tuesday — would be a dual one. The 32-year-old R&B crooner said fans can expect a companion album with 10 tracks to drop later this year. He also debuted his latest music video for the track "Mirrors" this past week. Timberlake's latest compilation is his third solo album and marks his return to the music scene after a nearly seven year hiatus. His last album was the 2006 multiplatinum, "FutureSex/LoveSounds." No stranger to late night TV, Timberlake made his rounds to promote "The 20/20 Experience." Earlier this month, he appeared on "Saturday Night Live," scoring record ratings for NBC. Timberlake was also part of a weeklong stint on the "Jimmy Fallon Show" dubbed "Timberweek." A week prior to its release, "The 20/20 Experience" streamed free via iTunes. Timberlake's comeback single "Suit and Tie" featuring Jay-Z has maintained a spot on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart since its release. Timberlake and Jay-Z will be hitting the road this summer for a 12 city tour.
